Great Synagogue of Florence
Via Luigi Carlo Farini, 4
Recommended - Monuments.
Museums & Galleries - Art / Music / Theater.
The synagogue was built in the late 19th century and designed by architects Professor Vincente Micheli, Mariano Falcini, and Marco Treves. Colorful on the outside, with impressive beige and red stripes, the inside follows suit with the whole synagogue covered with brightly colored Moorish patterns. The synagogue survived an attempt to destroy it during WWII, only suffering a small amount of damage.
