Piazza Della Signoria
Piazza della Signoria
The Piazza della Signoria has been the hub of Florence’s political life since the 14th century. The return of the Medicis and the Bonfire of the Vanities took place – where Savonarola was burned at the stake after being denounced as a heretic. Statues found here include Bandinelli’s Hercules and Cacus, The Nettuno, by Ammannati and the square is also home to the famous Uffuzi Gallery.
