Description:
Construction of the large open-air Marcello Theatre in Rome was initiated by Caesar, but finished by Augustus after Caesar’s death. In the Roman Republic, crowds would fill the theater to view comedies and dramas. Located in the rione of Sant’Angelo, the venue and surrounding area are still used for summer concerts.
