Museums & Galleries - Specialized Museums.
The Civic Museum of Rome is housed in the Palazzo Braschi, the former palace of Duke Luigi Braschi Onesti. The palace was sold to the Italian State in 1871 and used as the Roman headquarters for Benito Mussolini before being used to house refugees and later passing on to the civic authorities. The building became a museum in 1952.
