Piazza San Marco
The free-standing Campanile of St. Mark’s Basilica stands prominently in the Piazza San Marco in Venice. At 323 feet tall, the bell tower is simply designed and is topped with a pyramid spire with a golden weathervane of archangel Gabriel. The bell tower was once used to ring in the beginning and end of working days. Visitors can climb the campanile to look out over the entire city.
