Church Of Saint Francis Of The Vine
Campo S. Francesco della Vigna
At the time the Franciscan monks founded this church in the 13th century, the area was covered with vines, creating the name Church of Saint Francis of the Vine. Architect Sansovino designed this church, which resembles a temple and contains a bell tower similar to St. Mark’s Basilica. Works by Tiepolo, Bellini and Veronese decorate the interior.
