The Church of St Firmanus Major in Verona was built in the 11th century to honor a martyr, St Firmanus. A Gothic and Romanesque façade gives way to a single nave interior featuring a ceiling painting by Pisanello. Every year on August 9, St Firmanus is celebrated in the city.
